What's a Marxist, anyway?

Do any right-wingers read my blog? If so, can you please explain exactly what you'all mean when you call someone a "Marxist"? Do you mean a Communist? Or a Socialist? Do you think a Marxist is someone who believes the "means of production" should be in the hands of the workers? Or "the State"? Or is it someone who is fine with capitalism, per se, but sees history as the narrative dominated by class-struggle? (I know, for instance, many Capitalists who are Marxist in the "theory of history", but do not, you know, think the "means of production" should be seized by international syndicate of working men & women.) The reason I bring it up is because disgraced, indicted, former-House Majority Leader (& Creationist), Tom Delay (R-TX) went on some right-wing radio show (which I won't dignify with a link) and claimed:

"...[U]nless he proves me wrong, [Obama] is a Marxist."

Obviously, you can say anything to this effect. I could, for instance, say, "Unless he proves me wrong, Tom Delay is a pedophile ..." I think someone needs to remind Tom Delay that the burden of proof is always on the one making the claim. This a rule of logic, which is applied in many places, not the least of which is in our criminal & civil justice system here in these United States. & unless he proves me wrong, Tom Delay hates America ...

On another, more awesome note, the Celtics "Beat L.A." last night 98-88, taking a 1 game to nothing lead in the NBA Finals ... & the Red Sox swept the Tampa Bay Rays last night, increasing our lead in the division. (Also, Coco Crisp was ejected, along with a few Rays, for charging the mound after being hit by a pitch which was revenge for a hard slide Coco made the night before, which was revenge for one of the Rays players blocking second base when Coco was attempting to take the base earlier in the same game - not last nights, but the aforementioned game the night before last ...) This rivalry, if the Rays can keep up with us, is set to be really exciting down the stretch, & I, for one, believe it or not, sort of hope the Rays can stay on top of their game.
