I plan to write a few things this weekend:
... A review of the Rilo Kiley concert Missy & I went to on Sunday night in Northampton, MASS. (which will also be featured on the Volume-Knob blog); ...
... Something about how the Sox just took over first place from the, gah, Rays of Tampa Bay, all without Papi (who probably will not need surgery, thank goodness); ...
(... Post some pictures of our new Nintendo Entertainment System, with various games &; ...)
... How McCain's desire to have Lincoln-Douglas-style debates/townhall meetings is basically just a plot to piggy-back on Obama's money. Since McCain's campaign has very little cash, and cannot draw huge crowds, the only way they can get in front of an audience is for the Obama campaign to agree to these sorts of events (& probably pay for them too). I mean, Obama would devastate McCain in this format, which would be sweet, but still, I think I'd rather just let McCain linger in obscurity this summer ...
... How I think what we're witnessing, especially with Barack's victory this week, is the decline in influence of the so-called "Baby Boomer" generation. (Hillary Clinton, for instance, was - & for some, still is - very much the candidate of my parents generation, which is shrinking both in terms of influence & power, but also in sheer numbers. Just as a "law" of population dynamics, by the way, there are more & more of us post-"Baby Boomers" around - I think I'm in "Generation Y", & people in Barack's generation are called "Generation X" - so as bloc of, for instance, Democratic voters, we are starting to wield more power.)
That's all I can think of right now.
